Fieldstone Farm is located in the quiet little village of Contoocook which is in the town of Hopkinton NH.  We use to actively raise and show Lamancha and Toggenburg dairy goats until llamas became part of our life in 2000. Over the next few years the dairy goats were phased out until only now the llamas remain. We started with two llamas, Alley and Snowy and slowly and carefully expand our herd to the present seven. We have had only five crias born on our farm which helps to keep out numbers manageable.

I have designed this website to help answer the question we get so often from non llama owners, "what do you do with a llama?"  My primary answer is " have fun!"  We take them on hikes, use them for Public Relations, and put them in parades.  In addition we show them annually at the Eastern States Exposition Llama Show. One of the fun classes is the costume class so you will find pictures on this website of some of the costumes that we have made for the llamas.

The llamas are sheared in the spring to help keep them cool for the summer. The fiber is sent to a small mill in Connecticut for processing into yarn, roving, and batting. Newly added this year in a limited supply is my llama sock yarn.

NEW For 2018

LLAMA MEET AND GREET:  (generally held from 11 am to 5 pm, pleasant weather conditions are best): Come and visit the llamas, they are very gentle and easy to love. We will give you basic information on the many uses and care of llamas.  The tours are private, so you will not be in a large group.  You will have a personal hands-on experience as we bring out a llama for you to pet, brush, feed and walk. The tour will last about 1 hour, but, you are welcome to stay longer and visit with the animals afterwards. $10.00 per person.  GROUP RATES AVAILABLE (Minimum 10) $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 15 years and under.  Birthday parties and other group events welcome.  *Please RSVP for the Llama Meet and Greet.
